Classrooms and Programs
Before and After School
The before and aftercare program at the Willow School is staffed with seasoned teachers who understand that the beginning and end of our children’s days deserve to be handled with gentleness and cheer!
Preschool Class
Our preschool program is based on Montessori's principle of following the child in a prepared environment. The program is intentionally designed to foster exploration, nurture critical thinking skills, promote independence, and encourage a child's natural sense of order. We understand that children today need more opportunities to build creative thinking skills and social-emotional intelligence. Therefore, we encourage imaginative play and spend a generous amount of time exploring and playing outside in the woods.
Toddler Class
Our toddler classroom provides a low-ratio (student: teacher) learning environment thoughtfully designed to nourish the development of children aged 17 months to 3 years. Our Montessori-inspired approach promotes independence and self-care and honors a child’s developmental need for unstructured play. Our toddler class spends ample time outside walking on our trail or exploring nature-based play areas.
Pre-K Afternoons at Willow
Pre-K Afternoons at the Willow School provide afternoon care and enrichment for students who attend the Pre-K Morning program at Mable I. Wilson School (MSAD 51).
